Job Summary: The Chef is responsible for planning, preparing, and serving high-quality meals to residents of a care home. This role requires a strong understanding of dietary needs, particularly for seniors, and the ability to create nutritious and appealing meals. Key Responsibilities: Menu Planning: Develop and implement daily and weekly menus that meet the dietary needs of residents. Consider factors such as allergies, intolerances, and medical conditions. Ensure menus are balanced, nutritious, and appealing. Food Preparation: Prepare and cook meals in accordance with menus and recipes. Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations. Ensure food is cooked to the appropriate temperature. Dietary Accommodations: Accommodate special dietary needs, such as pureed diets, modified textures, or restricted diets. Consult with dietitians or healthcare professionals as needed. Staff Supervision: Oversee the work of kitchen staff, including cooks, dishwashers, and food service assistants. Train and develop kitchen staff. Job Type: Full-time Pay: £18.00 per hour Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
