Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong understanding of early childhood education principles. As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, supporting their development and learning through play and structured activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily care and supervision of children in the nursery setting.
- Implement educational activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a cohesive approach to childcare.
- Maintain a clean and organised nursery environment, ensuring all equipment is safe and suitable for use.
- Support the lead nursery staff in managing children’s behaviour positively and constructively.
- Participate in planning and executing engaging activities that cater to the diverse needs of children.
- Observe and report on children’s progress, providing feedback to parents as necessary.
- Drive to various locations if required for outings or events.
Requirements
- Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education is preferred.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a calm demeanour.
- Leadership qualities to support the nursery team effectively.
- A genuine passion for working with young children and fostering their development.
- A valid driving licence may be advantageous for transporting children or materials when necessary.
- A commitment to safeguarding children’s welfare and promoting their well-being.
